For this purpose alone a non-contact infrared thermometer is required. An infrared thermometer is one that detects temperature from a portion of the thermal radiation also known as black-body radiation emitted by the person that is being temperature checked. The thermometer provides temp readings with both Fahrenheit and Celsius units. It has a helpful audible alarm that alerts with a colour change on display if the temperature is above 100°F/38°C.
